LG G Flex Hands on AA (6 of 19)

Even though talk has already begun about the LG G Flex’s rumored successor, the truth is that LG’s curved handset is really just getting started. Up until now South Korea was even the only official market for the device, but this changes starting next week.

LG’s global rollout begins on December 8th, when the handset will be made available for pre-order in Singapore. The handset is also expected to go on sale in Hong Kong on December 13th, where it will be sold through retailers and offered directly from major cellular carriers.

That’s just the beginning. Reportedly the handset will continue to rollout to other key markets in Asia this year, and after that it is expected to make its way to Europe and eventually even to the United States. When it does arrive stateside, it is expected to make its way to AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile — at least if a recent tweet from @evleaks proves correct.

Is the LG G Flex worth the wait? If you’re really sold on the idea of a self-healing back and curved display, absolutely.

Outside of the curved display and self healing back, the handset features reasonably high-end specs, though nothing that’s going to blow you out of the water. The handset has a 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU, a 6-inch 720p display, a 13MP camera, a 3500 mAh battery and 2GB of RAM.

What do you think of the LG G Flex, plan on picking one up once it becomes locally available? Conversely, are you not yet sold on the idea of curved and flexible displays?
