That’s it folks, the first two Android Wear devices are here, but they may not be the ones you expected. Without giving away details, Google announced the LG G Watch and the previously unannounced Samsung Gear Live will become available in the Play Store today, with the Moto 360 scheduled to launch later this summer.
The G Watch was first unveiled in April, with LG as one of the initial partners announced to be manufacturing an Android Wear device, along with Motorola. While we had several notable leaks since then, Google and LG have kept the key details under wraps until today, when the device was announced on the stage of Google I/O 2014.
In terms of specifications, the LG G Watch comes with a 1.6-inch LCD display with a 280×280 resolution, 4GB of storage, 512MB of RAM, and a 400 mAh battery that should offer 36 hours of standby time. The device weighs 61 grams and is 37.9 x 46.5 x 9.95mm in size. The LG G Watch will be available in two colors at launch, black and white, and will feature water and dust resistance.
While not official, these are the reported specs of the Samsung Gear Live (pictured above):

Google has not provided details on the devices’ price and geographic availability, but we’re keeping an eye on it. Stay tuned.
