Earlier this month Sprint announced its pricing and release date plans for the LG G Vigor. AT&T quickly followed suit by announcing they’d carry it as well, though they didn’t reveal pricing or release info. Now AT&T has finally spilled the beans, revealing it will sell the handset for $334.99 outright or $49.99 with two-year contract starting September 26th.
For those that haven’t heard of the Vigor, it’s basically a watered down mid-range version of the flagship LG G3. The handset offers a quad-core Snapdragon 400 with 1GB RAM, a 5-inch 720p display, 8GB storage, an 8MP rear cam, 1.3MP front cam, a 2540 mAh battery and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. There’s also many of the G3’s software features like Knock Code, Smart Keyboard, Knock On, Smart Cleaning, Quick Memo and the list goes on.
LG has sure been milking the G3 brand recently, spitting out tons of variants in a manner that’s pretty reminiscent of Samsung’s strategy. Whether that’s a good or bad thing is probably a matter of opinion. Still, it’s nice to have decent mid-range options for those that can’t afford high-end flagships or simply don’t need all the fancy features of a flagship device.
What do you think of the Vigor, worth the price or would folks be better off getting a device like the Moto G or saving up for a flagship like the real G3?
